TRANSPETROL, a.s. transported a total of 9,626,207 tonnes of crude oil in 2023. The SLOVNAFT, a. s. refinery in Bratislava plays the main role in terms of realised revenues and the use of the pipeline's transport capacity in the operations of TRANSPETROL, a. s. The total crude oil transported to this company in 2023 was 5 319 972 tonnes, representing approximately 55 % of the quantity transported in that year. The transport of Russian export blend crude oil was 4 450 950 tonnes and the transport of other crude oil (KBT/CPC, Azeri, EC Sider, etc.) via theADRIA pipeline was 869 022 tonnes. SLOVNAFT, a. s., is currently also the only customer of crude oil in Slovakia.
Recent years have been a breakthrough in the history of TRANSPETROL, a. s. in terms of transporting other types of crude oil, as it is possible to observe higher transported quantities of such crude oil compared to the past. In particular, in 2023, an increase in the transport of other types of crude oil via the Adria pipeline in the amount of 869022 tonnes was recorded. The logistics of transporting other types of crude oil on the European continent consisted of tankers to the Croatian port of Omisalj, followed by transport via Százhalombatta, Hungary, via the reconstructed ADRIA pipeline to PS-4 Tupá, where, after completing the legally required customs formalities and laboratory tests, it is transported to the SLOVNAFT, a.s. refinery. The quantity and quality of individual batches of other crude oil was ensured by a newly built batch movement tracking system in the control system.
ORLEN Unipetrol RPA, s.r.o. also plays a significant role in terms of revenues generated and the use of the pipeline's transport capacity in TRANSPETROL, a.s.'s operations. In 2023, TRANSPETROL, a.s. will transport a total of 4 223 352 tonnes of crude oil to ORLEN Unipetrol RPA, s.r.o., which represents approximately 44% of the quantity transported in that year.
In addition to crude oil transportation, crude oil storage remains an important business element in the business activities of TRANSPETROL, a. s.. It uses its spare capacities to store crude oil for SLOVNAFT, a.s., ORLEN Unipetrol RPA, s.r.o. or another customer. In 2023, the average daily invoiced quantity for storage was 85,737 tonnes of crude oil.
TRANSPETROL, a. s. considers its priority interest to be the constant strengthening of its strategic position in oil transport and storage for the Slovak economy and the increasingly efficient operation on the European oil market.
